Chapter 1: The Arrival
Have I mentioned how much I hate the kind of stupid politics that seem to infiltrate the webcomic world? There are real artists out there, ones with actual careers, who are far nicer to folks than a good many webcomics that I can think of.I know this because I have a good number of artist friends. Ones with art hanging in major places, who are the nicest guys. Why just last week a friend took me down to an opening at a local hotel where his art was featured in a number of rooms, and another took me to an al fresco exibition she was holding at the Texaco and I have to admit that their work was really top notch. You could almost feel the tears of the sad eyed orphan. And when those people ask to sleep on my couch, I say "Sure, come on in, just remember to spray the can of Lysol on it after you leave."
But when I ask something from a "webcomic artist" it's all: Bunch of whiners, they are. |
