You know what the hardest thing about doing a webcomic like "The All NEW Adventures of The Slug" can be? Writing out the scripts.

Just in case you're curious what I'm doing on my "off" days, I'm compiling and reworking my scripts, going over some of the finer points, analyzing effect and projecting impact via market research.

As a f'rinstance, let me show you the script from the opening, frame of strip 1, "A Single Step.."

FRAME 1: -------- The Slug stands looking out across his world with a mixture of uncertainty and optomism. At times his life felt like it was a whirlwind of emotions that trapped him in a raging waterfall of events he could not control. He realizes that he cannot, no, should not let himself fall beneath that burden of self loathing. He banishes the misty doubts from his head with stoic determination and sets his gaze against the horizon. For him, today will be different. Today he sets forth on an adventure unlike any he'd ever have before. Today his life changed.

Still the quiet doubts linger in his mind. The memories of love lost, the dreams of being a professional race car driver, the life of crime, all follow him like an invisible flock of black crows looking for yet another chance to peck away at his soul.

Pretty simple, huh?

Still, that one scene took me nearly five minutes to write. Now factor in the artwork and you see where all my time goes.
